Socket works on mobile but doesn't work on emulator

Hi,

I wrote an echo client that connects to a remote host, sends some data and receives back an echo of the data from the remote host (basic echo client/server application).

For some reason my app works fine on the mobile phone but doesn't work on the emulator. I use series 60 with the ethernet plugin.

Browsing on the emulator works fine.

Does anyone know what the problem is????

I've managed to narrow it down to error code -1: "Unable to find the specified object"

I get this error as a response to RSocket::Connect

Have you tried the sockets example in the SDK directories?

I did but it doesn't work.

I guess that means that something is wrong with my emulator's network settings. But I can browse sites with no problems.

Hi,

You may try npacketadmin.exe located in epoc32\tools\. First select select your network interface, then start it. After doing so start the emu and try ur echo app. If it doesn't work, try some filter set options. Usually it works with most of the people if the first 4 box marked in set filter options. Hope it helps.

Well, it doesn't get to that....
I get an error when trying to connect so the packet monitor won't help.
