Problem accessing GMAIL

Hello,

I am having problem connecting to GMAIL from my nokia 6060. Although i am successfully connecting to other POP accounts but problem with GMAIL only.

Plus I want to use Instant Messages feature from my nokia 6060. Does any one know the settings for MSN messenger and yahoo messenger for Nokia 6060.

G-mail access require SSL cryptation to G-mails/Googles mail-server. Unfortunately Nokia 6060 doesn´t support SSL so it is not possible to download mails from there with the built-in e-mail client.

An option is to use the browser in the phone and log in to G-mail there. I guess that should work.

Thanks for your quick reply. I am already using GMAIL from web but wanted to access from email client. Anyway what about my second question?

Do you mean the 'presence' function in the phone?

Before you can use presence, you must subscribe to the service. To check the availability and costs, and to subscribe to the service, contact your network operator or service provider, from whom you also receive your unique ID, password, and the settings for the service.

There are also some other providers for that kind of services like www.yamigo.com .

About the MSN you need an application in the phone for that. Here you have one for example: http://www.getjar.com/products/81/um...ssengerforJ2ME

(I have not tested it so I don´t know how "good" it is, but maybe you can read the user reviews yourself ;-))

I am not talking about "My Presenc". I am talking about "Instant Messages"

You can find this in "Main Menu" = > "Messages" => "Instant Messages"

There you can define settings for server address, usernam and password.

But i dont know the settings for yahoo and msn messenger.

If any one know then send me.

Sorry for the earlier reply, was a little stressed when I wrote that ;-)

You first need to register to a chat server. Often operators have their own but there are also other providers. Yamigo (www.yamigo.com) is a provider that have chat support for MSN and ICQ but also supports Presence function, and they have pretty good reputation so maybe you could test that?!

Server adress and the other things you need to enter in the settings you get from Yamigo. (but requires you have Internet access on your subscription)

you can access yahoo and msn by using www.yamigo.com service

and for msn only mobjab

i want to use SMTP from my nokia 6280. is there any way to download the required certificates to my phone? i mean thawte certificates?
