Hi everyone,
Im working on an 8051 micro based project and i want to extend its function to sending text message when some sensors process info. I am not new to serial comms, but I do not know how to interface directly to a Cell phone. Ive read about AT commands, but my questions are:

Is the baud rate fixed for Nokia serial comms, as the max baud rate i can communicate on the micro is 38400bs?

Can one connect diectly via those serial datacables(dlr-3p) around, as they seem to be female just like my boards serial port?

Any advice will be appreciated
