deploy J2ME app on Nokia 6030/6100

dear All,
hello. I have a problem going on. I make an application in MIDP and then run it in wtk 2.2 it runs perfectly but when I use datacable and install the application using jad and jar on the mobile; the application background color is grey and the application does not open. can anyone help me on this

Hi,
what is the jar size.check your jad and manifest if everything is ok.Also check whether the APIs that you are using is supported by the phone.Also check whether any exceptions are thrown if you have a LOG file.

dear soku,
when i check the application in j2me emulator; the application works perfectly well with no logs. and the APIs are surely supported by a java enabled phone. One thing that can be checked is the entry in Manifest file. does that make a change in the working of the app? You can anyway send me a sample manifest file of any application that you have deployed on your side. A simple manifest file!

Hi haseeb,

Note that Nokia 6030 is CLDC 1.1, MIDP 2.0 and it supports only the MMAPI (JSR-135) and Nokia UI API (vendor specific).

Nokia 6100 is CLDC 1.0, MIDP 1.0 and it supports just Nokia UI API.

What about your application? Which APIs is it using?

Besides, does your app fail on both devices?

Please give us some more info about your MIDlet. Is it a canvas based app?(I mean is that grey colour displaying from your application?). If so I guess, the crashing might be due to some run time errors. Try to locate at which point of code this error happens.
Please post your JAD/MF. Also please let us know what is the purpose of your application.
