Nokia E60 and CommConnection

Hi

I know that E60 supports CommConnection via java. But it doesn't work. Even Nokia's sample code doesn't work (http://www.forum.nokia.com/info/sw.n..._v1_0.zip.html ). It just quits back to Installations Menu after trying to open a connection. So what's wrong and what should I do?

I have tried open com port in my own software but it craches in CommConnection com = (CommConnection)Connector.open("comm:com0"); line. There will be no exception thrown but phone says Unhandled exception . I have tried to catch(Exception e) and many others but they won't help. What is the right exception to be caught?

hi,
is that unlocked device (e.g. from Nokia store) or branded device from operator? have you tried serial port communication using native software on that device?
try to check steps hinted by nokia docs e.g.:

This is normal unlocked device.

What you mean by this "native software"? I have tried that HelloComComm example software but it jumps back to installed software menu when I grant access to connectivity media (step 4 in your link). I used DKU-5 USB cable but DKU-2 makes no differens (tried).

MIDP_Using_Cable_Connection_In_Nokia_Devices_v1_0_en document says that I should use PC suite settings when I connect my phone to a computer. Am I right?
