dear friends,
this question was left from the 6280/sprite/layermanager problem, see
http://discussion.forum.nokia.com/fo...ad.php?t=82987
we saw the the problem inside the series 40 sdk 3rd edition emulator and on one device (6280). but we do not believe that if we fix it for a 6280 and the emulator (it's an emulation of a 6270) we will have fixed all devices affected then.
we believe that the emulator shows the same behavior as the whole range of series 40 3rd edition devices. can we really expect this? or do we have to expect an issue found for one device to get fixed in later devices (or in later firmware revisions of the same one)?
does the 6282 for instance really show the same issue the emulator is showing?
to determine a device affected we ask if the return of System.getProperty("microedition.platform") starts with "Nokia6270" or "Nokia6280".
if all series 40 3rd edition implementors would have been affected, this wouldn't be enough. we would have to fix the issue for these all
6126, 6131, 6136, 6125, 6165, 6111
6275i, 6275, 6282, 6233, 6234, 6280, 6265, 6265i, 6270
7370
then we would have to check each entry of the list against the return of System.getProperty("microedition.platform")
is there another way existing to identify a series 40 3rd ed. device (covering future devices and future firmwares)?
thanks for your comments
