    Hello,
If I write a C++ application on S60 1st Edition, can it run on both 2nd and 3rd Editions? Generally, is there backwards - compatibility across the different editions?

    Thanks, expecting your responses.

    Regards

    Hi,

there are really many problems with running application between different

    - Operating system versions: v6.1, v7.0s, 8.0a and 8.1a (also reffered as 1st and 2nd edition and FP1, FP2 and FP3 )
    - Different phones with the same OS versions
    - Standalone chapter is new Symbian 9.1(3rd edition) )
    - same applies for UIQ devices...

Basically if you really want to be sure you had to install all SDK and have as meny devices as possible and be prepared to make modification in your code...

    Bye
