Transferring Text messages between 2 phones

I have just been sent a new 8310e replaces and want to transfer some text messages saved in my outbox from one phone to the other. I have been told by a colleague thats it isn't possible. any ideas?

If the messages are saved at SIM memory, changing the SIM to the
other phone will do it. Then you can save the messages to ME memory
if you want them permanently in the phone. You could forward the
messages. You could use AT-commands to read them to PC and save them
to another phone. Unfortunately there is no direct way to do it.
