    Hi -

Could anyone please give me a quick explanation on the differences between AMR and MIDI. I understand that MIDI is polyphonic but I'm not too sure about AMR. Is correct to use AMR in a MMS SMIL file ? - and will this be read by both Nokia and Ericsson handsets.

    Many thanks

    Matt

    Hi,

In brief: AMR-file itself includes sound. MIDI file doesn't include sound at all, but a description to device what kind of sound to produce and how.

You can use AMR in MMS, though every MMS terminal don't support it. Check "Nokia messaging characteristics" -document to find out which terminals have support for AMR. You can find it from http://www.forum.nokia.com/main/1,35452,1_2_7_1,00.html -> Technical.

    Best regards,
