    Hi,

I am trying to open an image from specified url using s60 2nd edition. But when I run it, it appear an error "Symbian OS error : -34". But when I try to run it in WTK emulator from Java, it works.

Could somebody help me to solve this problem? Where is the problem? Is it in s60 emulator setting or in the source code?

    Thx in advance

    regards,

    jen_fu

    Based on this site
    http://www.newlc.com/Symbian-OS-Error-Codes.html
    the error is
    KErrCouldNotConnect -34 Failed to connect

Are the network connection settings specified properly on your phone? (Or are you just using the emulator - that was not exactly clear from your message)
Are you trying to access to a special port (which might be blocked by your operator)?

    hi jen_fu,

testing in emulators is not a proof againts failure on real device (different network access really matters),
have you succesfully run any of Midlet on that device which uses network conenctions?
say Google Maps for J2me, Widset or any kind of app,
if they fail to connect request network configuration settings for your device via operator page or your device "Settigns wizard" application,

    regards,
    Peter

    hi,

    1) - file (image) format not supported?
    2) file size not handled in java?

    regards,
    Peter
