Implementing our own SIP stack..is it possible?

Hi,

I want to know whether we can implement our own SIP stack on non jsr-180 phones. I have heard that as along as communication through UDP/TCP is possilble on handset, we can implement our own SIP stack. Or can we instead port the existing Java JAIN SIP API on J2ME or can we import the classes of jsr-180 into non jsr-180 phones by putting jsr-180.jar into lib folder? What technical difficulties would come while doing so? I will welcome any suggestions on this....

Can you tell me how we can implement our own stack. Please allaborate on this further.

Actually I got one stack named as sip-for-me from https://sip-for-me.dev.java.net but I am not able to run this application neither I was successful in using this library in my own application. Still I am working on this. I will post the result on this... In the meantime if any of you guys come to know about the build process of this project (sip-for-me) then please let me know.
