    I have an app that when run on the 6600 starts up automatically without any notification about allowing the midlet to run. I have tried this on other Series 60 devices and they all give notifications. I have checked the permissions set for the midlet in file manager but its says to ask first before starting.

    Does anyone know if this is a device bug or is there something to be added in the manifest or even code?

    Are you sure this is a midlet? If so, is it signed?

    It is a MIDlet, unsure if it is signed. But the midlet performs to expectations on all other nokia series 60 devices except the 6600 where the midlet starts without a notification.

    hi,
    @ian
    have you checked that doc:
    Known Issues In The Nokia 6600 MIDP 2.0 Implementation v1.7
    if that is listed as known-issue?
    also is your firmware most-recent? (5.53 for that device seems to be latest)

    regards,
    Peter

    No couldn't find anything in that doc. I'm relucant to update the firmware because if it is a problem with the firmware and when this application gets released to the public some users will have this firmware and the problem will occur again and must users will not update their firmware.

    I would like to know if anyone has experienced this problem and if there is a workround.
