    Hi,

few of my clients come from University, and ask when and which Nokia phone will support EAP-TTLS PAP authentication.
Or ask me to do some client which will do that.

It is very important because eduroam project use it
(http://www.eduroam.org/) and potential customer around Europe is count in milions, plus Australia.

    Have you any suggestion ?

From my knowledge of authentication EAP-TTLS / PAP is simpliest authentication mechanism fair enough secure and wider implement and is not hardware depended (it is only question of implemented EAP supplicant).

    TIA

EAP-TTLS/PAP is unfortunately not supported, but we do support EAP-TTLS/MSCHAPv2 and EAP-TTLS with another EAP method.

We will look into the need to support that protocol and contact you about it.

    Hi Pubi,

We did initial push, thanks to Ron.
I provide him info about contact person in eduroam.org, and I hope Nokia will implement PAP inner EAP-TTLS protocol soon.

Eduroam will move shortly to service using in DANTE http://www.dante.net/
    which work with EU commsion.

correct, this has been communicated to the dev team as a requirement. Cannot comment though yet what is the development schedule and when we will see this supported.
Thanks for bringing this to our attention

Same here - I need PAP support to connect my N80 to the university network... If there is any new information please tell us

Also in our company (7000+ people) we only support TTLS PAP Encryption in all our offices around the globe. Without the TTLS PAP support the WLAN and also VoIP feature of the E60 is useless for me (and many other employees).

Here PAP support is needed too. PAP support is the only reason why much student I know don't buy a symbian based phone, but a Windows Mobile opperated one.

add me and several people from my university on the eap-pap wishlist.

Has anybody tried to run the JRadius client under S60 already or wouldn't that make any sense?

JRadius is client/server API, and doesnt have sanse to use it, because 802.1x (EAP) is base on non TCP/IP connectivity before authentication.

I manage the campus wifi network in my university and I DO need EAP-TTLS/PAP support on (my) N80.
Please add it and let us know about it.
EAP-TTLS/PAP is the most flexible/secure protocol because through RADIUS server you can use any authentication mechanism you could need based on username/password.

    [we use Trapeze APs]
