    i want to develop a sim based application which will send messages to the server regarding the requests, can we develop it using symbian c++ or any other language other than java, since most of the mobile os are based on c++ not java, help me in this matter whether it is possible

    No, you have to use a the SIM Application Toolkit (SATK) tools supported by the SIM cards that the network operator has chosen to use.

    Then you also need the oprator's cooperation on getting such app on their SIM cards.

    Does the type of sim card used by the provider matter in developing using SAT??

    You need to use the tools that support the type of SIM cards that the service provider (operator, carrier) is using.
