    Have you tried transferring a swf-file (Flash Lite application) on the device? You cannot find the Flash player itself, but it will play the Flash Lite files transferred on the device.

    You might even have a couple swf files preinstalled on the device, like Introduction and Sudoku (I have seen those on other Series 40 devices, but as I have not held 6288 in my hand, I cannot say for sure if they are there or not)

    which applications have you tried? Note that the device should support only Flash Lite 1.1 applications.

    Is your phone branded for an operator?

    I'll check on this, but it will be sometime before I am able to get back on this. I'll be out of the office for a while.

    An additional comment. 6280 and 6288 look quite the same. 6280 does not support Flash Lite but 6288 does. I know this is a stupid question, but are you sure your phone is a 6288?
    Additionally. What is the firmware version returned, when you press *#0000# in the idle screen (where you also dial phone numbers)?

    Ok, sorry for asking the above question. Looks like Vodafone has disabled the Flash on the phone, but I am not sure of this. I did not see Flash support mentioned on their web site. In fact it was not listed for other Series 40 phones either. Interesting...

    6288 shoud *not* have Flash Lite player pre-installed. It is one of the conflicting devices in Forum Nokia. Only Series 40 3rd edition FP1 and Series 40 3rd edition FP2 has Flash Lite pre-installed; 6288 is only Series 40 3rd edition.

    I posted in our forum all Nokia Flash Lite enabled devices and also marked conflicting ones. I think these should be corrected, due 6288 is not the only one with misleading one. (For instance, check 6233)

    Here is our list of devices and conflicting ones (in bold);

    same here, nokia 6288 without the flash lite player. And I'm really angry about it since I just bought my phone and spend the whole day searching for a solution. What about Nokia bringing out (very urgent) an update wich include the flash lite player?? or at least enable us to install .SIS so that I can install the Flash Player myself?? If not very quick, I will return my phone and buy another one.

    There is no .sis to install (because .sis files are for Symbian based phones, and the 6288 only accept Java MIDlets, .jar files).

    If it really doesn't have Flash Lite built-in, and you need it, then I'd say you'd better off getting another phone (you are extermely unlikely to see a new firmware version with Flash Lite, if it wasn't there from the beginning, and you can't do it as a Java MIDlet).

    thanx Petrib. I'm just hoping for a response of Nokia because I found a LOT of complaints on the net about this issue. I love the 6288, but I really need a flash player ...

    If you want a response from Nokia... this is not the place to look for it. Forum Nokia is only for developer's support. Because we support developers that work on other systems besides Nokia we are pretty well isolated from the product division. We have no direct input into device design.

    I'm sorry, you can complain on the end user forum http://discussions.europe.nokia.com/ but I don't think it will do much good after product release.
