Some questions about SMS

1.Can I read a message before it goes into the inbox and play the recieved message alert? How can I do that? For example I want to check if the text message contains the keyword "A", if there's a "A" I would want to block it before it enters the inbox.

2.Is there a fuction that can reply messages automatically? Like I recieved a message containing the word "A" and I would like the software to reply a message "ABCD" to the sender automatically without any work done by the user.

Look for the function MessageReceivedL( TMsvId aEntryId ) in the example referred by tina

you can get the message contents as follows in the MessageReceivedL() function

const TDesC& descp = entry.iDescription;
TBuf8<160> MessageArrived;
MessageArrived.Copy(descp);
// now the descriptor contains the arrived message
// Now you can compare the received message.

I just wanted to know, are you successful in receiving the new SMS and intercept it without a "arrived message" tone plays? Using the MMsvSessionObserver class.

No i havent tried that, as my application doesn't require that facility. My application only needed to read the arrived message and react accordingly.

Is there a way that I can get the inbox and outbox view inside my software? What I'm trying to do is kind of make an enchancement to the current sms system, like adding some controls in the menu, but I hope to keep all the functions of the current system. Can you give me some advices? I'm just a beginner.
