-OpenC was from Nokia and PIPS from Symbian.
-Nokia was involved in PIPS too.
-PIPS is a subset of OpenC.

    Questions :
-Why did Nokia contribute towards PIPS when its own product OpenC, which is a superset of PIPS, was on its way to be announced at almost the same time?
    -Why two products the two...seperately?

(ok i know Nokia and Symbian have their own business interest..but still the above scenerio is kinda funny)

I know rules wont allow the 'real' people(insiders) to answer this correctly. But any speculations/theories?

PIPS can be used by UIQ developers & if NTT DoCoMo wants to use it, it is also there for their Symbian based FOMA platform.

OpenC is Nokia and S60 specific.

Thanks, now it makes better sense. If you or anybody else comes up with any more points or have something more to add, this question which, I am sure quite a few might be having, will be put to rest

    Cheers
