In a modem pool, several modems are connected to one computer. All modems can be used at the same time. A modem pool is required when one wants to use CSD/HSCSD to transfer data through the Nokia M2M Gateway. A modem pool is also required if the Nokia M2M Gateway is connected to the PSTN.
The Nokia M2M Gateway supports Cisco modem pools (with large-scale-dial-out capability). For more information regarding Cisco products, see http://www.cisco.com.
