Uninstall application

Hi there,

Is there any way to programatically uninstall an application? I don't mean the application itself, what I mean is unistall/remove another application.

It would be for 3rd edition and due to the security platform I think that it is almost impossible to make it silently. But anyway I wanted to ask and if it is possible it would be nice to know what capabilities are needed...

I guess that a workaround is to launch the uninstaller, but I've been searching the forum and I don't have a clue how to do it (exactly what is the uid or name of this app and what parameters would I need to pass).

and one way to remove .app file and other files in folder \\system\\app\\filename
and delete folder also . for deleteing file code below.

Thanks for your answer, but that solution is not valid for 3rd edition as application are stored at private directories.

Regarding that link I've already read, but what I want is not unistall my own application. Instead of that I want to uninstall another app's installed on the phone.

Originator of the thread is saying about 3rd edition where target build is changed to .exe from .app.
And as far as i know it is not possible with 3rd. You might need Manufacturer approved capabilities with good reasoning behind.

thanks for your response.

I know it sounds like a virus implementation or something like that, but the point will be for a big corporation to OTA uninstall some applications from their own phones...

Anyway, I was wondering that it was not possible.

Regarding the other option, is it possible to launch the uninstaller and let the user choose wether to uninstall the app or not?

Hello ajsanchez,

It's an OS internal behaviour which can not be hooked. And as far as i have dealt with i couldn't find a direct way. There is no such public API to achieve this and i am not aware about any private API.
I hope someone else may help you if he/she has experienced this issue before.
