I have bought a 6310 to connect to my IBM R31 ThinkPad running windows XP (home). I tried the infrared connection and i failed.I am now told that the modem driver does not support XP.
Question 1: would it work for 6310i?
Question 2: can it be the infrared connectivity?
Question 3: if it is the absence of XP support, when, if ever, will it be in place ?

    Hi,

You can check the information related to your phones from http://www.nokia.com under Support section. When there is an infrared connection problem it could occur because of various reasons, for e.g. the driver does not support connection, the configuration is incorrect or IrDA adapter used is not working correctly or is not compatible.

I had the same problem on Windows XP Pro and Nokia 6310i but the solution could be in reinstalling " IrBridge Kernel-Level Interface" and the "infrared virtual com port" then "usrbridg.exe" will startup again. You have to remove existing devices and add new hardware (choose Other Devices) from manufacturer "Extended Systems". It worked for me... Good Luck!
