How to display variable(descriptor)'s value in IDE? Like TDes/HBuf/TBuf

I use VC6 and VS2003 to develop S60/UIQ applications. when debug, I want to see variable's value. variable's of descriptor(TDes, TBuf,HBuf) can't be displayed.. How can I display it??

I remember in VC6, user need to modify some configuration file to display BSTR/OLESTR.. I wonder if there some similar method for TDes..

if i am not wrong The FAQ is for VC6, is it applicable to VS 2003 also. as i tried it with VS2003 with out any luck.

A quick search on Google shows that the autoexp.dat file is still used even in Visual Studio 2005. Have a look at this.

I donot have VS 2005 till now. any way i can't use for Symbian development. but i will give it another try on vs2003.
