Does the GPS and map system in the N95 use the J2ME JSR-179 feature Landmarks?
I.e. can my application store landmarks that the user later can access in the map?

Yeah the device can save landmarks which can be used in multiple ways, it's done by:

Browse map to position where you want to set landmark --> options --> selected position --> save location --> as landmark --> save as (it will give you the name of the location by default but you can change it to whatever you want) --> select a category, so either accommodation or entertainment etc, the list is comprehensive --> click okay.

This is now saved in your landmarks and shown on the map with a little icon. You can click the icon and get details, plan route to, navigate to from current position, send it, edit it or delete it.

You can also use the landmarks function straight off the bat to find places you want to go to, navigate to etc, really neat function, hope that helps bud, always loads of information at the wom world on this sort of stuff as well, hope i didnt come across too patronising or anything
