Location Based Application(GPS)

Hi ,
I am developing a location based Application od series60 3rd edition FP1

I have the following queries:

1)Do we have Map framework support in Symbian.like for retreiving map according to co-ordinates received via GPS receiver?

2)Do we need Map server at network for real time testing of Application for maps.
3)if yes, is there any test map server or support in symbian for downloading maps for mobile phones.

Please help me in this regard.

1) No such support is provided in S60 3rd Edition FP1 however this will change in the future, see "Location-Based Services: The Next Killer App". For now you need to buy the data from a map data provider and then render the map yourself.
2) Location information acquisition can be simulated with tools provided by the SDK. Simulating the map data [server] is another problem ...
3) Contact the data providers and see what they offer.
