Doubts - S60 3rd Edition versus S60 3rd Edition FP1

Hi all,

I have one doubt. If I am developing an application whose targets are device one (S60 3rd Edition, Symbian OS v9.1 - N75 for example) and device two (S60 3rd Edition, Feature Pack 1, Symbian OS v9.2 - N95 for example) is there any binary compatibility issue I must take into consideration? AFAIK no, right?

Besides, how does the signing process work for those two different targets? My question is because I understand that there are two different SDKs for the devices above (one for 3rd Edtion alone, another for FP1 devices).

Can I use a single SISX when deploying to both devices (N75 and N95, 3rd alone and 3rd FP1)???

For S60 3rd. Ed. (S60 3.0) and S60 3rd Ed. FP1 (S60 3.1), use the S60 3rd. Ed. MR (Maintenance Release) SDK and you should be OK with one SISX for both devices.

You can also build two different SISX using the different SDKs (S60 3rd. Ed. MR SDK and S60 3rd Ed. FP1 SDK), if you wish. However, unless you have FP1 features you want to use/take advantage of, it'll probably be easier/safer by just using the MR SDK. Test on both devices yourself, though.

It is mentioned in the release note of S60 3rd Edition MR Release that animation related APIs are removed in the release. Can any one suggest me an alternative way of using GIF animations on MR devices? Please reply as soon as possible. I need the solution urgently...
