REST technology for my j2me application

i want to use REST technology for my j2me application.wat shld i do or how shld i do.wat steps i need to follow?plz help.Im new to REST

i hav writen a j2me application which gets the data from databse.the data is retirived from server by using php and the output of php is provided to j2me appl.This is done using http connection.now if i want to use REST then wat?in wat way is it different.plz help me to proceed.
