    Hi there,

I have been using Nokia 8210 since 2001. it was an excellent phone.

Last week, I have bought a new 6300, but it is difficult for me to transfer the phone book from my old phone to 6300.

I have connected 8210 to my laptop and upload my phone book to my computer. The phone book uploaded is in Microsoft Excel format for 8210. I have examined the 6300 phone book, it is a different format from 8210. I have to input every friend's names and phones one by one. It is a hard work to retype about 300's phone number in my 6310!

I was wondering does anyone know how can I transfer the phone book in Excel format to the new 6300?

    Cheers.

Why not just copy/move the contacts to the SIM card in the 8210, then put the SIM in the 6300.

If all do not fit on the SIM, then on the 6300 copy them to phone memory, clear the SIM and repeat until done.

You can also import the Excel file to MS Outlook or Outlook Express, and then use Nokia PC Suite to synch the 6300 with Outlook.

    Hi Petrib,

According to your instructions, I have successfully loaded the address book in Excel file to my 6300 by using Outlook Express and Nokia PC Suite.

BTW, it does not work well by using SIM, because some names are too long. It seems the SIM does not support long contact name.

Anyway, thank you very much for your kind help.
