    Hello,

I have the following problem. I created an application that needs to be Symbian signed because it needs some capabilities. This application needs a license file as well, which is bound to the IMEI of the phone. Since it is not possible to have each individual license file Symbian signed, I thought that I can selfsign the SIS file that contains the license. But if I try to install this SIS file, I get the following error message: "Unable to install a protected application from an untrusted supplier".

What can I do to solve this problem?

    Cheers, Mario

I guess you are trying to install your licence file to the private folder of your protected-UID-app. This is not possible, however you can install files into the import folder of a protected application (like you do with the _reg.rsc file).

Thank you for your hint. It seems to work now, but I have to use a SISAPP type sis file with a different UID. It would be better if I could use the type PARTIALUPGRADE or SISPATCH, because it makes only sense to install the license file after the main application and both packages should be installed in the same memory.

Do you know a solution for this problem as well?

    Cheers, Mario
