How to generate DTMF in j2me ?

Hi friends ,

I am doing a project in j2me . I need to answer the IVR ( Interactive Voice Response ) automatically . So i need to generate the DTMF ( Dual Tone Multi Frequency ) in j2me automatically .

I use platformRequest() to make the call . After that i need to generate the DTMF in my j2me application . Is there any way to do that ??? If so please help me to overcome my problem ...

You can insert post-dial DTMF tones by submitting them along the phone number you called.

Of course there is not access to the phone call stream after placing the call, so you cannot submit the DTMF tones later or find out in your code what the IVR answers to you

I tried with the "/p" option in my application . But it shows phone number not valid . Wat to do now ?

But is it possible to use the number "0" in front of the phone number ?

I tried with "00" in front but the call is not connected .

Try to call to a valid phone number and add the postdial-DTMF tones after a valid phone number. You should hear the DTMFtones when you answer the call on the other phone.

Ya i tried with working numbers ... but when i try to call with zero's in front it doesn't make any call . why ?

does the platformRequest() accept zeros at front ?

What was the phone number string exactly you passed to the telephony app?
Can you make the same call manually?

Ya I m also facing some problem with DTMF which are:

1. If we append "*" in front of mobile number then it shows "Not Valid phone number". Is it not possible to append any special character in front of Mobile number when we are calling through application using platformRequest.

2. How to enable "DTMF" service of Nokia N70 and Nokia6680. When we call through platform request to a string of phone numbers then these its DTMF service is not working by default. So please tell me how or with which ohone settings we can make them enable for Nokia N70 and Nokia 6680. Its working fine with other Nseries handsets like N95 and N93i..

I got the solution for my first problem which i mentioned in previous post i.e. "Can we add special characters like "*" in front of mobile numbers" while using platform request through application.. The answer is yes its possible to append special charaters like "*"/"+" in front of moblie Numbers.

But yet not get any solution for how to manully make "Send DTMF" feature enable for Nokia N70 and Nokia 6680 mobile phones.

You cannot enable the DTMF service other than using the platformRequest and send post-dial DTMF tones
