Simple tutorial needed

I am tired, disappointed, and have a big traffic usage downloading all the programmes, Carbide.c++, SDK, Symbian OS... I don't even remember all of them. I'm not new to programming. But I could not even make a simple application for my mobile (6600) that could show "HelloWorld". All these annoying errors, though I haven't changed anything. Isn't it really possible to make an easier tool in order to let people develope programs that they want? All these configurations... very annoying. Lost days for researches on net, reading tutorials, help files and the rest... resultless.
Why when debugging "Program file does not exist"? Why [name].app is not created if it should be? Why creating .uidesign makes everything worse than it used to be. How is it possible to make a single window to show a label with "HelloWorld" text? I have installed everything that is possible to install.
Is there a simple tutorial how to create simple application with Carbide.c++ for Nokia 6600 type phone?

here is how to make the first "Hello World" for Nokia N70 , and how install:

but in my installation (and also after 4 times install - reinstall)
I cannot start , because one option in the menu I dont have.
I dont have in Carbide.c++_v1.2 - menu the [ File ]- [New]- [ C++ Applikation for S60 Project ] option , so I cannot start my first hello world projekt :-(

and I dont know what to write in the fild SDK ID ? only a random number number?

Lets just start by saying I'm no expert.

Did you install these programs to the same drive? Remember also that the Symbian development tools can't be installed to a directory with spaces in the name, this rules out "C:\Program Files\". I have myself not used Carbide c++ v1.2 but my Carbide c++ v1.1 comes with a dialogue witch states that it detected a new component, after the SDK installation. I presume the SDK writes some new plugins into "C:\Program Files\Nokia\Carbide.c++ Express v1.1\plugins\" there should be a folder "com.nokia.cdt.templates_xxx". If it isn't there that's your problem.

Maybe your template plugin is misplaced. I'm not sure it will work if you copy this folder to your Carbide plugin installation path, but you could try.

As a last note: I have had problems with Carbide and Symbian development when I started, my problem was the paths I put it in so I think it best to install all the software to the preferred locations. O yes I think your carbide workspace folder should not contain any spaces either.

and my last problem was the SDK ID.

mobiledevices.kom.aau.dk..getting_started and use the OEM version for sam days (if you have same harddisk-images , you have all time)

and use it for write , what nessesary in [ window ] [ preferences ] for the SDK also running in express version:
the SDK ID:
The folder - name: C:\Symbian\8.1a\S60_2nd_FP3\
is also the SDK ID: S60_2nd_FP3
SDK name: com.nokia.s60
OS version: 8.1.0.a
SDK version: 3.2 ,it works , but downt know why

. . and same minutes later , I see my "hello world" on the phone emulator :-)

I don't know how you got to this link but there is a new version of this tool, Carbide.c++ 1.2, which is significantly improved. Have a look at www.forum.nokia.com/carbide

Are there any other online tutorials anyone has found? The mobiledevices.kom.aau.dk one is easy to follow, but doesnt work.

Is this the same with anyone else? Whenever I build for the emulator I get the error message "make[1]: *** No rule to make target `\Symbian\8.1a\S60_2nd_FP3\EPOC32\BUILD\SYMBIAN\CARBIDE\WORKSPACE\HELLOWORLD\GROUP\HELLOWORLD\WINSCW\HELLOWORLD.WINSCW'. Stop."

As far as I know, I have the same SDK add-on as in the tutorial, and I have carbide.c++ v1.2 (Build 29).

Any suggestions?

Note: I can run the Example bld.inf thingy without any problems, it's just when I use the HelloWorld Template.
