Hi hsinglt007! Welcome to Nokia Discussion Boards!!

User data (contacts, photos, messages and files) and add-on applications such as Java games or Symbian applications will be deleted during the PC update. If you are performing the update via PC, the download wizard will inform you if your phone requires a data backup.

You can back-up your phone memory data to your phone memory card, or to your PC using Nokia PC Suite. See your phone user guide for more detailed instructions.

To backup to your memory card:

select Tools > Memory from the main menu

select Options > Backup phone mem.
To restore info to phone memory:

select Tools > Memory from the main menu
select Options > Restore from card

There is a dedicated discussion boards for phone software update related discussions

    Regards
    Gopal

You can copy your Contacts, photos, messages and files using Nokia PC Suite.

AFAIK, Its not possible to copy/backup the installed Java/Symbian applications and games.

In all likelihood, you will find them on the N73 specific, regional support pages, which you can locate through http://www.nokia.com/support

I guess the games like Snake was preinstalled on your phone and it might be there in the new version as well. (No garuntee from my side! ) Else give a try googling for some free downloads of the games.

    Regards
    Gopal

You select your phone model from the list.

Then you choose "Update via PC" and proceed from there (by installing the Nokia Software Updater, NSU, on your PC and then using it via USB cable to update the phone; need to use USB, and need a Windows PC).

After the firmware update, the phone will be in the same state it was in, when it left the factory where it was made (except that it'll have a newer version of firmware, and the SIM lock state is not affected, if the phone was originally SIM locked/restricted, and unlocked since).

All data you've added (Contacts, Calendar, Messages, Notes, pictures, videos, apps you've installed) will be gone, too.
