    Hi,

I had developed an application, that reads and writes contacts data. But to read a single attribute, it asks for permission, which I had specified for the midlet in its settings.

I thought by signing the midlet, i dont have to to specify the read and write access each and every time when I run the application. I signed the application. But this problem still exists.

Please help me. I dont want this read and write everytime.

Then you (and your user) has to change the permissions of the MIDlet on the mobile phone manually. Where this setting is, depends on the Nokia Series used.

I am using Nokia N72 phone. I changed the setting in mobile manually. But there is not other option to keep apart from "ask every time".
In this mobile, for writing even a attribute it asks for permission.
How to stop getting that. Please help me.

Had these permissions been added in "MIDlet-Permissions" in the jad file before the midlet signed?

Just to make sure: You changed something although there is no other option. You mean you tried to change the setting, I guess. Have you transferred the JAD and the JAR to your phone?

I have the same problem for the N81. The only options available are "Not Allowed" and "Ask every Time". This is totally stupid, is very annoying that the phone asks "every time". Really I'd like to see for a solution for this.

camilo2255, after doing a search on this discussion board, you will find several answers to this. One solution is to comment to the MIDP working group …
