Folder of pictures in Data\ and Gallery application

Hello!

I need to create a folder that will contain pictures for a game application.
There can be up to 50MB of pictures.

The problem is I don't want to see these pictures when using the Gallery application but at the moment all these pictures are visible there (making it difficult to browse "real pictures").

I cannot put these pictures to the private folder of the application because the user should be able to add pictures (dynamic download of new game levels).

Questions:
1. How can I have that kind of folder with pictures that won't show in the Gallery application?

2. Is it possible to hide a directory?

3. Is there any other locations for the folder else that the application private folder and the Data folder?

Does the app itself perform the download of new pictures? In that case there isn't any problem. Otherwise, if privacy is not an issue, you may use any other folder you feel like. I'd suggest you get some reading on "data caging" on symbian.

Another option is:

1) Encrypt all your images.
2) While using in your application, decrypt the image and convert into bitmap.

At the moment I'd rather let the door open to the user to directly download the bitmaps onto the folder but in the future I may restrict it.

Could you give me some exemple of path where I could have these pictures (bearing in mind that I don't want to have them scanned by the Gallery application).

Encryption is a good idea but it would waste time to decrypt them and would affect the performance of the game. Well I assume so but I could also try.

*Any* folder other than the restricted ones (\sys\bin, \private, \resources and the one used by the gallery of course) will do.
