Questionnaire about RDA devices / firmware versions

Hello,

my app keeps getting failed by Ovi QA because of issues specifically found in 5800XM firmware 20.0.012.

RDA only has 51.0.006, 50.0.005 (I checked and it's ok on those two) and one device with 21.0.025 , which is currently inaccessible. Any chance you could:

- make the 21.0.025 accessible
- make one 20.0.012 available?

I think the problem is more general: developers tend to have the latest firmwares, whereas a lot of users sport the earliest and most buggy ones. It would be great if RDA had more variety of older firmwares for all devices that we developers don't have access to!

Sending SMS message is cheap, but very important for testing.

Not all SMS-s are cheap actually, and it would also enable spamming.

that's right, outgoing SMS are blocked (to prevent misuse), incoming SMS to RDA devices however works.

I have tried to test the autostart functionality with the Nokia Remote Device Access (RDA) on several different phones. It does not work on any phone.
When I test it on my test devices (same model and firmware) it does work.
Do you experience the same "problem" with your autostart applications?

My guess would be that the startup list is disabled for 3rd parties on those devices, in order to avoid tampering with the remote control software, and installing always running malicious applications (spying on others for example).

That might be, but there are applications (from other people, which indeed look like spyware from China), which do start automatically.

was the a specific device/devices with which you faced these problems? I can factory reset them to see if that solves the problem.

otherwise there should be no such limitation, the devices are (for most part) production devices with normal sales firmware. there are a couple of additional components that are installed to the devices for RDA usage/maintenance purposes, but those shouldn't interfere with your application.

RDA configuration for Google Chrome

When I try to open http://apu.ndhub.net/ in Google chrome, it gives the following result.

Use MS internet explorer, I have encountered similar prob with other browsers in the past which have be solved with MS explorer.

Google Chrome works mostly ok too, although it's not "officially" tested. so there might be a few minor glitches. At least one thing that I've notived is that with Chrome, the phones in the "Phones"-tab are sometimes listed in random order (not alphabetically as they should).

"officially" supported/tested browsers are: Firefox v2+, Internet Explorer v7+, Opera v9.6+ & Safari v3+.
