Nokia 6300 Themes

Hello,

I would like to enquire about theme editor tools for the Nokia 6300.

As far as I have been able to find out the Nokia 6300 uses S40 3rd ED, correct?

However it is not mentioned as a compatible device here (Nokia Series 40 Theme Studio)

Could someone please clue me in on which theme editor is needed for Nokia 6300?

Just to confirm, Nokia 6300 themes can obviously be made with Nokia Series 40 Theme Studio

Due to same thread about Nokia 6300, I'd like to ask how to change default icons using Series 40 Theme Maker 2.2? Can I change them with pictures with jpeg extension? Can somebody give me tutorials, please. Thank you so much.

This does not seem to be a very helpful forum, at least considering that this was a simple question by a newbie and no one bothered to answer.

Perhaps I am wrong, but I don't think you can change the icons using the Theme Studio, you might have to get Carbide, which has more options.

If someone could confirm this it would be great, but I will not hold my breath for any feedback.

I thought the icons can be changed cause once I saw it in free theme website and the icons totally changed, but thanks for helping.
So, what kind of carbide that can be used for S40? As I know Carbide can only be used for S60.

You may not be able to change all icons, but you can change the icons of the Main Menu,

The list of icons that you can change

Audio Message
Applications
Log
Camera
Contacts
Extras
Gallery
Go To
Media
Messaging
Numeric Entry
Organizer
PTT
Services
Settings
etc.,

Each Icon has to be in the following formats
1) 46x48 Pixels (JPG format for List View)
2) 74x62 Pixels(JPG format for Grid View)
3) 74x62 Pixels (GIF , can be animated for the Animated Grid view, this will play when the item is selected)

To do this for your Nokia 6300 you need Nokia Series 40 Theme Studio 2.2. You have even have Flash Lite animations for your background / Screen Savers etc., You can set this also from the Theme Studio itself(as Nokia 6300 supports Flash Lite content).

The trick is to create transparent .png files for the status and softkey areas, these will make your background pictures shine through.
