Developer Platform for these handsets (Nokia 2660, Nokia 2760 and Nokia 2630) is given as 'Series 40'. But the specific Series 40 edition is not given. What is the version? Is it Series 40 3rd Edition FP2 or is it Series 40 5th Edition as it has MIDP version 2.1 ?? Or is it anything else??
These three devices do not match any current platform. They are based on Nokia OS 6.2 but have limited memory and limited Java support. So they are a scaled-down version of 5th Edition. We still don't have an official name at this time for these.
An old thread, but I hope someone can make me satisfied.
You, Daniel, says that those three phones have limited memory and limitied Java support. Is there any one who knows what Java it supports? (talking 'bout 2760)
I found this info:
Java Technology JSR 139 Connected, Limited Device Configuration (CLDC) 1.1
JSR 118 MIDP 2.1
JSR 185 Java™ Technology for Wireless Industry
JSR 75 FileConnection and PIM API
JSR 82 Bluetooth API
JSR 135 Mobile Media API 1.1
JSR 177 Security and Trust Services API for J2ME™ (CRYPTO and PKI packages)
JSR 205 Wireless Messaging API 2.0
does it support RMS for example? and is VeriSign's Java certificate compatible with 2760?
