5070 PIM problem

Hi,

My 5070 retrieves ony the contact's names without the phone numbers
from the phone's PB and the sim PB contacts are ok.

I iterated over every contact's fields and only in the phonebook it got only names! the sim contacts are OK....

Any idea?

I am talking about JSR-75 API problem in Nokia/5070.

I am developing an application that reads all the contacts from the phone. both SIM contacts and PHONE contacts.

The 5070 has a problem with retrieving phone numbers for the PHONE Contacts Used by the JSR-75 API. it retrieves only names.

Does any one has a solution?

there are pdfs with examples in the forum nokia download section.Just search for PIM API DEMO.There i suppose you can find out the solution.

Hello hananbercu,

to get more specific regarding this, have you done following settings:

Menu->Contacts->Settings->Contacts View-> Name and Number

Based on the prev settings, when you launch the PIM API-based application there doesn't seem to be Name and Number when viewing Phone contacts, right? (instead there's only a Name)

I am trying to retrieve the phone numbers with no success.

About previous quote: Did you mean with your previous message that you fail to retrieve phone numbers to SIM Contacts too?

My application works fine on many devices.

My guess is that there are some device with bugs.

my application works also fine with some other devices (Nokia 6131, Nokia 6680, .. also with other vendors SonyEricsson ... ). It seems there is a bug in Nokia 5070 and 6500 (both were announced in similar time 5070 in 29-Mar-07, 6500 in 31-May-07)

Hello hananbercu & hrdonka,

I've tested this issue with 5070 by using PDAPDemo as provided by Sun's Wireless Toolkit, no problems there in retrieving phone numbers either from phone or SIM. Could you also test with PDAPDemo and then tell your findings?

Nokia 5070 is rather old, an S60 2nd Edition phone. Where and by whom (=some operator maybe?) these phones were announced in 2007?
