I just want to know what is this 4 stand for in following directory name
S60_3rd_FP1_4

it means its the fourth installation of the same SDK on your system :)

Symbian Neil is correct and it will not make any problems in developing applications.

And if you really don't like that convention then you can do something shown in the following link: ;)

You can still work with S60_3rd_FP1_4. So no need to do anything with this running version. The link given was just for information.
