What are most common problems using httpconnection in different countries?

Hi, I'd like to know about most common problems related to usage of httpconnection in different countries on different operators. Especially from branded phones since those things are rare here. Ive heard that on some branded phones operator needs to authorize applications to access internet, is this true and how does one get application authorized? Do all operators provide internet apn-settings automatically/on their webpage? What other problems have you experienced?

I'd appreciate whatever knowledge/experience you have on the issue.

in short: Opera mini stopped working on Orange UK customers because of Orange's SafeGuard-feature, which wasnt as far as Ive understood it, a program on phone but something looking directly into data-traffic on Oranges end. Are things like this common?
