how to accelerate the openc application?

I use openc to develop a dll as h.264 decoder, when i use this dll to deocde a264 files,the speed of decode is very slow,so I wonder if the openc' api is inefficient compare with symbian'api, for examples,fopen,fwrite,printf,etc.these functions mainly cause the low speed.
And what I want to know is that how to optimize the codes and how to accelerate it? thx
