I wonder whether it is possible to develop and sign a freeware VoIP application with the current status of Symbian/Nokia signing/certification processes.
In order to use the Audio Proxy Server (APS) the Multimedia DD capability and thus a Publisher ID as well as Nokia approval are required before going to the Test House and obtaining Symbian/Nokia signing.
So what happens when a freeware APS-based app is sent to Cellmania for going through the Free Symbian Signed route ? Does this freeware process apply also to applications requiring the Multimedia DD capability ?
Even if it does not allow the low latency of APS, CMMFDevSound should not require the Multimedia DD capability and allow for an easier Free Symbian Signed route.
Thanks in advance,
mczane
