    Hi All,

I have installed 15 days evaluation version of code warrior and also code warrior update provided with on device debugging kit

    I am facing below problem.

I have installed metro TRK SIS file on my N80.

My PC Suite shows the device is connected to system.
The device manager of system shows the comport 14 from which device has been connected to system.

but when i launch the TRK application from device, it shows a screen with below details.

    Status: Not Connected
    Failed to open port.
    Error Code: - 21

can i know wat is going wrong

i made exaustive search about this in this forum.

i have made some conclusion and also having some more queries.

the conclusion wat i made are.

TRK after connection wil show connected on port 1
but on CW or carbide IDE i should configure to that port number which has been shown on device mangare of the saytem.(com 14 or com 15 etc etc).

    is it correct.

    more queries

when i run CW or Carbide it tells me some times port number configured and set doesnt mis match and some times the error comes as

failed to load specified program to target.

i have seen the below link also http://www.mobilenme.com/content/view/41/26/

    but of no use.

why on device debugging so diffucult.
why can't nokia or symbian provide one detailed pdf with all possible problems that can occur when we do on device debugging.

there are so many queries on device debugging in nokia forum still no proper pdf availbel which solves all problems.(not all atleast most of the problems)

    Sorry but
Try not to blame Nokia, Except Windows Mobile You will only get the Device Debugging only in Nokia Devices. Mostly it is caused by user's Wrong IDE setup.
And Carbide.C++ Support Team Helps you when ever you contact them.

    sorry for blaming the nokia.

but the poor documentation of nokia is clearly visible in many places.

some times the developer will be exasperated from it, the above lines of mine were outcome of that exasperation.

I really appreciate its effort in brining ondevice debugging to developer.
But they need to improve a lot in making it sophisticated to developer to make it possible.

I hope they will do it soon
