To get started:
You choose platform - Win-x, Linux, Mac (I work on Linux)
Choose the Language- Java, Apache API (C or perl), etc.
You should also choose the scope, whether you want a desktop
browser for development purpose or you want real time browser which
is useful to check your wap-site without having wap device? In both
cases you need different technologies.
Basically an XML broser should just do the interpretation of the XMl or XMLs code.
I think the first step should to check the technical documents from www.wapforum.com to understand the actually technical architecture of the WAP and WML standards.
