Hey, I tried testing it on the new Nokia 2630 (S40 5th edition LE) and it doesn't seem to support capture of video using Java API. In fact it does not even support JSR-172.

Its funny since, the S40 3rd edition does support it. Can any one point me to the documentation where we can see difference between various edition from Java perspective?

    - Thanks & Regards

    Hello ychitnis,

    ..does not even support JSR-172.
You're right on this, the API isn't listed among 'Java Technology':

I always belived that going from S40 3rd edition to S40 5th edition was an upgrade (where in the user gets more features). But S40 5th edition LE (atleast the experience I had with Nokia 2630) seems to have removed the Image / video recording feature.

Is there a way to add new JSR's on any given phone or is it driven by the manufacturer?

If the above doesn't work then probably I will have to upgrade my cell phone.

    Regards,
    ychitnis

You cannot manually add JSRs to phones, since they're defined by manufacturers.
