Accessing Jar file within the Midlet

Does anyone know whether it is possible to access the complete jar file of the Midlet that is running? The reason for wanting to do this is so that the Midlet can be sent via Bluetooth within the Midlet to another mobile device, thus spreading it in a viral distribution.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Not possible.
You could store one copy of the MIDlet JAR inside the "running" JAR, and send that to another phone. Of course that JAR does not contain the JAR inside anymore, so not exactly viral distribution....

I feared that may be the case. I had already thought of your idea but as you say it is not viral. I understand J2SE allows the creation of JAR files and so it may be possible to re-create the jar file at run-time but this doesn't help with J2ME which doesn't have a JarOutputStream capability. Does anyone know of any source code to replace that functionality on J2ME ?

Well, there is no access to the relevant files (except the resource files inside the JAR) so you just cannot achieve this with Java ME.
