HttpConnection through WAP gateway

Has anybody found a way to make HttpConnection work through a wap gateway? If I set the wap gateway ip to 0.0.0.0 on my 7650 everything works fine, but normally, using the gateway, I get a 406 from my wap gateway after it has received the document.
Basically I think the gateway doesn't allow for non wap/etc. types of traffic. I've read in another post the suggestion to encapsulate custom data in dummy wml files, but I'd like to know if there is an alternative to this method.

Hi Peter,

there is a way to make a HttpConnection working through a wap gateway. I used it in a project. You simply have to set the content-type parameter to "text/plain". This should work.

HttpConnection works for me through a wap gateway only if the current
language in the phone is English. If I'm using Finnish language data is not transmiting. Is this some kind of discrimination?
Also, operators do not allow big URLs. I don't know exactly the size but I know that its different in Sonera and Vodafone for example.
btw, my operator is Sonera.
