I created a patch to the 1.4.1 sources to make python survive an endkey event.
Note that when you build yourself a package with this patch and install it, you will probably have to reboot your device before it becomes effective.
Best regards,
Niels

Hello Niels ,
I have a better solution than yours
Now you can use envy module for this purpose
Your solution was to capture red key but python shell or your standalone app is not protected by low memory as a true system app !
Here in envy you set the propery system app to python shell or your standalone app
You can test it if your app is protected.
If you press red key your app is not killed and your app become in background.
