J2me Supported image formats

Hello,
do you know what image formats does j2me support?

does it have something to do with the device itself?

If the png, jpg, and gif files will be coming from a server, and let j2me render those,
will j2me be able to render these types of files?

Hi,
J2ME supports 2D .png format (bitmap imaging). It supports .gif too, but .gif format will never provide transparent image. So the best is still .png.

Hi everybody,
I think the .bmp file is not supported by J2ME wireless tool kit
.But I need that for barcode decoding.
what can be the alternative for that?
Can I use .png file ( I am confused) plz. its urgent ,so many many thanx in advance for response.
