Displaying info "about the application"

Is it possible to display a message exactly like the "About" message in an application, in a python script?
For example, if you go to RealPlayer and select "About application" from the menu it will show you the version, date etc.
I would like to know the command in python for displaying such a message (like appuifw.????)
Any help greatly appreciated.

I believe there isn't exact match for that, but you may use appuifw.Text() or perhaps create a topwindow to show a small amount of text on the top of the application.
