I have some problem with SMS based PC API
But my program is all in Java
So I want use Java to develop a PC API to send SMS
My phone type is NOKIA:6100

Can I do that??
And How should I do???

I may had miss the boat as I am just entering into this arena of coding SMS client in PC.

Below is my problem, where I am facing currently. I have also started a new threat in this forum for the same. I am also tageted to be work under the ASP/ActiveX environment.

I am currently coding a VB program with the Nokia PC Connectivity SDK 3.0 (I had found that it come with Nokia PC Suite 5.0.18).

By running the sample code, SMS Setting, I am able to Send SMS via Nokia 8910. However, I always received error #7690, when I tested it with Nokia 6510, Nokia 6610, as well as Nokia 8250. By the way, I do not have a full range of Nokia Phone to test with. Bu so far onlu Nokia 8910 is workable.

May I know what is the real problem is? They APIs that causing the problem are as follow;

1) SetCommonSMSSettings()
2) SetSMSParametersSet()

Personally, these 2 APIs seems to me is the must to call before sending SMS, so I just can't tell what to do.

Please assist.

The_beginner,

Try closing other application that connect to the mobile. Maybe your Nokia PC Suite or SMS Manager or Oxygen Mobile Manager. This is generally due to that. Other than that, I'm afraid i cannot make out why it shouldn't work.
The other posiibility is to check your Message Settings, like SMS Center Number, etc.

I have tried that but the same problem still occuring. By the way, the error code #7690 is, "Requested operation is not supported".

So far, only Nokia 8910 is working, Nokia 6610, as well as Nokia 8250 are having the same problem.

just information, maybe almost all of us knew about it. Build a SMS program that connect PC with cellphone with traffic about 1000-3000 SMS per hour is impossible.

You must have a connection directly to your telecommunication operator with SMPP. You can build it easy with Delphi or VB. see my website at http://smppfauzul.netfirms.com

It's a code for sending/receiving SMS with Nokia-D211 Card in VB6, isn't it?!
If it is, would you do me a favour and send me this code please?!! (If not, send it to me anyway and tell me what it is exactly about!)

Have you got any code for sending/receiving SMS with D211 in other programming languages too? (Java, .NET, C++) ???

BTW I have downloaded Nokia PC Connectivity SDK 2.1(Stub32i.exe). and I have 5100 Nokia handest and data cable for it.
