    hi guys
    even though my english isnt the best and a similirar topics exists i want to depict my problem.
    i just loaded a new game (ancient empires II) for my phone and started trying it out. after a few minutes playing the game was supposed to load a new map but instead of this an error appeared which said: "out of memory error java/lang/outofmemoryerror"
    i would like to know if there is a way to repare this error or not.

    ps: im not one of those expirienced java user so please dont use too many technical terms - i wouldnt understand them anyway.

    The memory on that device is quite limited. You might be able to create a little more memory for your game by deleting other applications, stored messages, contacts, etc.
    However it might be that the application is running our of so called heap memory (which is limited by the Java runtime), in which case the actions I listed above would not help you.

    summary: not much you can do about this error on your device.

    hey i have a 6288 and i store all my games on my memory card and i have about 1.9 gigabyte fre and when i play a game it says out of memory or something. how can i fix this

    Similar errors usually happen when games are installed on phones that do not fulfill their (memory) requirements. As Hartti said, there's not a lot you can do about it..

    Hello,

    I also have OutOfMemoryProblems on 6288, 6131, 6233, 6300 and 5300.
    Is there really nothing I can do...?
    I use J2ME Polish and BitMapFonts perhaps there's a chance to optimize it?

    Hi Streptomycin,

    to avoid such OutOfMemoryExceptions you should optimize your code. This means a lot of things, like removing references to unused objects or reducing image sizes (if used within your code). For a more comprehensive list of optimization hints you can see here:
